Given that this is NXT’s first show outside of the States, I’m don’t think it’ll disappoint. Even though most Takeover specials deliver, expect the wrestlers to go the extra mile for this one. Also, I’m looking forward to watching a live wrestling broadcast in the middle of the day.
Dash & Dawson vs Enzo Amore & Big Cass – Tag Team Championship
Oddly enough, I don’t this match is quite predictable. Dash & Dawson have been doing a great job at playing the heel tag team in NXT, and I’d hate to see their run cut short. At the same time, Enzo & Cass are long over due for some kind of title. However, the current champs need their comeuppance, especially after they injured Big Cass. I’m predicting we’ll see new champions crowned tomorrow.
Bayley vs Nia Jax – Women’s Championship
Unless they needed Bayley on the main roster sometime soon, I don’t see her dropping the title any time soon. Nia Jax has been on fire lately, but I don’t think she’s ready for a title run. The Women’s Title has carried just as much prestige as the men’s, so it shouldn’t be used to escalate a rookie with tons of momentum. Expect Bayley to win this match via DQ.
Emma vs Asuka
Emma has been booked quite strong within the weeks leading up to this event. I believe the two will put on a clinic, as they are two of the most seasoned vets on the NXT roster. After a grueling match, I predict Emma to win after Dana Brooke finds a way to interfere.
Baron Corbin vs Apollo Crews
I believe this to be the best built match on this Takeover card. It may not have all the bells and whistlers of a grudge match, but the outcome feels unpredictable. They have both been unstoppable, and now they’re about to collide. Each competitor has been great this year (although, Crews has only been here for 4 months) and it’s unfortunate one of them has to lose. With this being said, I predict Corbin to come out on top. He’s been there much longer, and deserves the win much more.
Finn Balor vs Samoa Joe
Unless they plan on swerving us, I don’t see Balor losing this match. They’ve done a good job at showing us how Joe’s finisher is his weakness, but’s more of a reason to have Finn come out on top. With this event being in the UK, I’d imagine Balor has a ton of friends, family, and fans flying in from Ireland to see him compete. I predict the champ retaining with a clean win.
Like most wrestling fans, I’m obviously looking forward to this show. In fact, I’m curious to know how many of my North American readers will be watching live. Feel free to leave a comment and share your story on you took the day off to watch Takeover: London.
