This is the last PPV until Wrestlemania, and it’s WWE’s last chance to make an impression of their fans. While we switch over into the “Fastlane”, there isn’t much going on other than 3-4 feuds. I assume fans are most excited for Reigns vs Bryan and Cena vs Rusev, but that’s okay, because they have a chance to build many other feuds at this PPV.
Nikki Bella vs Paige
As much as I want Paige to win, I’m predicting Nikki comes on top. I do hope Nikki wins in a dirty fashion, giving Paige one more shot for the title. If Paige is bound to win, it won’t be until Wrestlemania. Also the WWE has a lot invested into the Nikki Bella brand, and they probably want to maximize that for Wrestlemania season.
Bad News Barrett vs Dean Ambrose
Ambrose has finally put some wins together, but it’s time his winning streak breaks. Bad News Barrett will take this match, but he may have to use some extra tactics. This feud will continue into Wrestlemania season, but with much better build. These two have too much potential to be a throwaway feud at Fastlane.
Usos vs Cesaro & Kidd
Cesaro & Kidd have gained a lot of momentum heading into the PPV, but unfortunately it won’t help them out in this match. Going into Wrestlemania season the WWE will need there more marketable tag team to be the champions, meaning the Usos will retain. If this is the case, I feel bad for Cesaro because it feels as if they can’t find a decent program for him.
Goldust vs Stardust
I highly believe the WWE is planning on bringing back Cody Rhodes and in order to do this they’ll have Goldust go over. Originally I thought it would be better to have their match at Mania, but this will be a great start to what I think can be a promising feud.
Dolph Ziggler, Eric Rowan, & Ryback vs Seth Rollins, Kane, & Big Show
This match was put together last minute and doesn’t carry much importance. I foresee Ziggler, Rowan, and Ryback winning this match, but not cleanly. This is the night I’m most confident about Randy Orton returning, and he’ll cost Rollins, Kane, & Show the match. Since Rollins and Orton are set to feud for Wrestlemania, this would be the best way to start the program.
Triple H-Sting Face-to-Face Confrontation
It’s rather obvious how this will end, with a planned match for Wrestlemania. I do predict they announce their match tonight to create excitement. An exchange of words will happen, and I’d like to hear what Sting has to say about his recent appearances. We’ll most likely see Triple H on the receiving end of a Scorpion Death Drop at the end of this segment.
John Cena vs Rusev
If any match ends in a DQ, it’s this one. Rusev will come out on top with a DQ win, and he’ll probably destroy Cena afterwards. I’m sure this is the planned feud for both of these men heading into Wrestlemania, and this match will just further their heated rivalry. I can’t put my finger on it, but I do think they’ll have something extra act as a catalyst. Personally, I think it would be great to get Hogan involved somehow.
Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns
The outcome for this match will be controversial, whichever way it goes. With that being said, I think the WWE will stick to their guns and have roman Reigns go over Daniel Bryan. Their trying to create new stars and Reigns going over will be a step in the right direction. Bryan already has main event status, there’s no need to have him go through the same story as last year. Also, if they went with Bryan winning, it would only be disrespect to the Royal Rumble tradition.
I’m very excited for this PPV after predicting the matches. The build hasn’t been strong for certain feuds, but the major ones are carrying major implications for Wrestlemania season. As fans, this is the time where we should sit back and enjoy what looks to be an interesting Mania build.
